Personal History: Emily loves to travel, to learn new things, to explore and to be creative.
Professional History: Emily has worked as a music therapist for 6 years in Canada and UK. She is experienced in working with people with developmental delays, terminal illnesses and mental health. Some of her previous and current work employers include NHS (National Health Service, UK), Towersey Foundation, Rowcroft Hospice, Langley Community Music School and KinVillage. Prior to my training in music therapy Emily worked as a professional musician, a flute/piano teacher, and a designer for educational materials.
Work Philosophy: Client-centered approach is the principal value of Emily’s psychotherapeutic work. She believes in attending to each person’s needs and also challenging them to explore their potentials. Often, she incorporates different forms of expressive arts such as dancing, drawing and acting into her therapy practice.
Personal Life Philosophy: We are like raindrops from the sky. We land on different places on earth and the stream takes us in many different directions. Sometimes we get stuck in a pool of still water but sometimes we flow like a majestic fall. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
