Personal History:
I was born and raised in Southern Alberta on a farm. The last 5 years I have spent the majority of my time in the lower mainland and as much as I love the Alberta farm life, I am slowly falling in love with BC. One of my favourite things to do is spend time outdoors whether it be hiking, biking, or just sitting outside enjoying nature. Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember and music therapy was a natural career choice for me. The most important thing in my life is my faith in God and I try to use the talents he has given me to the best of my abilities to help others through music.

Professional History:
After I completed high school, I spent my first year of post-secondary education at Trinity Christian College near Chicago studying music. My second year I spent one semester at the University of Calgary and the following semester doing online courses. Because I had more free time, I was able to spend a few weeks at a children’s village in Mexico volunteering in a variety of roles which included starting a new music program. Those two years were spent obtaining the required prerequisites to apply for the Music Therapy program at Capilano University. I completed the program in 2017 following an internship with older adults both in a day program and a long-term care facility. I currently work with adults with developmental disabilities seniors in long-term care.

Work Philosophy:
My work is founded in existential values with a focus on a client centered approach. By far the most important element of therapy is relationship and music has a unique way of creating relationships that may not otherwise be possible. Through music, I seek to empathically meet clients wherever they may be at and build relationships that can help them meet the goals they are seeking.

Personal Life Philosophy:
I am a Christian and in everything I do, I seek to do it with the love of Jesus and for the glory of God.

Favourite Quote:
“And above all these, put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14
