Personal History: Music has always been a big part of my life. As a baby I sang rather than cried. My voice has been something that has allowed me to express myself as long as I can remember. I also began writing songs at  the age of 11 as another form of self expression.

Helping others has also been a big part of my life. I moved to Mexico to work in an orphanage when I was 17 and there began to pair my love of music and my love for working with others. I have worked with people from all over the world, using music as a basis of connection and relationship.

Professional History: Prior to starting my music therapy training at Capilano University, I worked for 5 years as a special education assistant and applied behavioural analysis support worker in a private high school. Through this experience, I gained the flexibility, organizational skills and compassion necessary for working with children and youth with special needs.

As a graduate of the Capilano University Music Therapy program, I have over 1000 hours of supervised clinical work with seniors and women in recovery. This experience allowed me to hone my musicianship skills and clinical interventions.

Work Philosophy: My approach to music therapy is based on an understanding of the human condition. As human beings, we all seek to be seen, heard and validated. My work aims to meet this fundamental need through relationship. Upon the foundation of the relationship I form with clients, I then collaborate with the client to create client-centred goals, including social, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual goals.

Personal Life Philosophy: Moment by moment.
