Professional History: After graduating with the MA Music Therapy in 2018, Sarah founded Keating Music Therapy, where she worked as the senior music therapist in a wide variety of settings and as a clinical supervisor within the University of Limerick and for qualified creative arts therapists.

During and after her training, Sarah worked within the national rehabilitation hospital in Dun Laoghoire, Dublin with adults and children living with ABI, stroke and other neurologic disabilities, at St. Camillus Hospital, Limerick with older adult mental health and dementia care, and at Blue Box Creative Arts Therapy Centre, Limerick with children living in disadvantaged areas and with children living with physical and/or intellectual disabilities and many more.

Sarah continues to work remotely with the University of Limerick as a supervisor, guest lecturer and external examiner. She is very excited about expanding her music therapy experience here in Canada as part of Creative Music Therapy Solutions.

Personal History: Sarah moved to Canada from her home country of Ireland in July 2022. Her passion for working with people and learning from new cultures stems from spending her childhood travelling through different parts of Asia and Europe. As an adult, Sarah continued her passion for travel by living and working in the United States of America and in China.

Sarah began singing from a young age and trained as a classical soprano singer for many years. She went on to perform in many settings, as a solo singer and as part of groups, forming a female acapella group in 2013 and working as a vocal coach for some time. In 2016, Sarah joined her passion for music and her love of working with people by pursuing a career in Music Therapy.

Work Philosophy:  Sarah takes an eclectic approach to her work, which allows her to meet each individual as they are. Sarah is devoted to establishing trusting and attuned therapeutic relationships with people and is committed to providing appropriate therapeutic approaches to address individual needs at a pace that is best suited to each person.

Personal Life Philosophy:  Some of my main personal values are relationships, empathy, and compassion. I believe in doing what I can to make good things happen for those around me, this influences my personal life, my work and how I treat myself.
