Testimonials

Carol-Ann Rowlandson RN BScN I Director of Resident Care I Blenheim Lodge, Vancouver, BC

"Blenheim Lodge residents have been enjoying the benefit of music therapy since 2017. We have had only a couple of different therapists so the service from the therapists is consistently great. Music reaches people in ways conversation or other activities cannot. The therapists are sensitive to individual and small-group needs and interventions. We have so enjoyed the wonderful people and support from these skilled therapists."

Therapeutic Recreation Department. Peace Arch Hospital

"I have had the pleasure of working with Sandy Pelley at Creative Music Therapy Solutions (CMTS) and her wonderful team of Music Therapists for almost 20 years! The music therapists come to our facility each week and provide an engaging and stimulating experience for our residents.

With a professional and thoughtful approach, the music therapist engages residents in discussion, reminiscing, playing instruments and singing and toe-tapping to favourites of the past and today. The residents particularly enjoy the different themes each month which reflect the current season or time of year. Many of our residents have dementia and are unable to participate in many of our regular programs offered at our facility. However, music therapy is a wonderful way for our residents to continue to participate in something enjoyable and beneficial to their overall health and wellness. The service provided is throughout the year and Sandy ensures if a music therapist is away that a replacement is in place and continues the excellent service for our residents.

The power of music is unique and therapeutic and Sandy at CMTS ensures that her highly trained team of professional therapists are providing the best service possible for our residents! Dropping by a session you will see residents smiling and waving their hands to the music, others are calm and relaxed and taking the music in, while other residents participate by shaking bells and singing along. I really appreciate Sandy’s team and their commitment and dedication to providing excellent music therapy services to the residents of Peace Arch Hospital for almost two decades!"

"Sandy Pelley has provided this long-term care facility with substitute music therapists for over 10 years. When one of my staff calls in sick or takes a vacation, Sandy responds immediately to my request for a substitute and is always supportive, conscientious and efficient in her interactions with me. Sandy makes every effort to ensure my satisfaction with the staff she provides. The music therapists who work for her organization are talented and highly competent professionals, who orient quickly to the setting.

We benefit from Sandy’s service in many ways, including the ability to maintain continuity of service, and the exposure of our residents to other music therapists with their unique styles and strengths.  Thank you, Sandy, for all your hard work over the years! Through your service, you make a huge contribution to the quality of life for all the residents at our facility."
